
Windows Mobile is developed by Microsoft for smartphones and Pocket PCs. It came as a replacement successor to Windows Mobile and June. Its origins back to Windows CE in 1996 though appeared as ‘PocketPC 2000’ in the year 2000. Its initial success facing competition from rival OSs including iOS and Android, Microsoft announced Windows Phone to supersede Windows Mobile. Following that Windows Mobile has been deprecated. Most of windows mobile have a bundled set of features, Such as multitasking and the navigation ability on file system. And there are set of applications that perform basic tasks like the Internet Explorer is the default web browser, Windows Media Player as the default media player for playing digital media. Its new Windows Continuum offers to enjoy smooth PC like experience that’s powered by Windows phone. Using mobile version of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is one of its key features. There would be more features with new Windows 10 operating system like add multiple desktops, Central Notification center for Windows, Universal Apps and Continuum Bridge tablets etc.
